Right of Way/ Utility Project Manager

We are looking for talented individuals to join our team on on a $2M heavy highway project.
Essential Job Functions
  • Acts as liaison between third party utility companies and the project construction personnel
  • Manages the overall utility schedule, providing weekly updates and a list of priorities based on the project schedule
  • Reviews final plans, ensures that all safety procedures, traffic control, permits, and work plans are in place prior to construction
  • Negotiates Master Utility Agreements (MUAs) with each utility company
  • Develops costs/fees and pricing betterments
  • Schedules each utility relocate
  • Understands Property Title and Property Right components
  • Negotiates acquisition of property rights or TCEs for construction
  • File for and receive all permits prior to construction
  • Coordinate SUE work and coordinate utility conflicts
  • Perform design reviews to avoid any potential conflicts with other utilities or disciplines
  • Manage the design and construction efforts when performed by the project or its subcontractors
  • Coordinate all hookups to temporary and existing facilities
  • Establish budgets for necessary areas
  • Manage and review subcontractor time and invoices
  • Provide a Utility Report for each segment showing progress to date
  • Accredited four (4) year degree in an engineering or construction management field of study and 10 or more years of relevant experience in the construction industry; or 15 years or more of experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, client, vendors, subcontractors and visitors
  • TxDOT construction experience preferred
  • Experience relocating utilities, acquiring property rights and TCEs for construction projects
  • Experience managing subcontracts as well as direct reports
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • Experience working with Engineers, reviewing design plans and making cost/time saving recommendations
  • Prefer candidates that possess a real estate license in any state
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
